While we’d been at dinner, a late spring snow had fallen, and the world outside was lightly blanketed in white.

Cam climbed out of the car that had driven us home and looked out at the snow with a smile on her face.

“Mac, look at this! It’s beautiful!” she exclaimed, scraping up enough snow to form a ball.

I couldn’t help but grin at her infectious excitement. She was always full of surprises. I watched her for a moment, the way the light danced in her eyes and the snowflakes caught in her hair. She turned to me, grinning mischievously.

“You know what this calls for?” she said, lobbing the snowball at me, hitting me square in the chest.

I laughed and shook my head, grabbing a handful of snow to retaliate.

“You’re not going to win this one, princess,” I shouted as I ran toward her, my longer legs easily shortening the distance between us until I tackled her, still holding a handful of snow above her head.

Her eyes widened as they looked at my hand. “You wouldn’t,” she dared, squirming beneath me.

My eyebrows rose. “Oh, I think we both know the answer to that.”

She shrieked as I playfully proceeded to rub the snow in her hair. Droplets melted and ran down her neck, disappearing beneath her shirt.

“It’s so cold,” she cried, just before a blast of snow hit me in the face.

I sputtered and shook my head to clear my vision. The humor of the moment melted along with the icy droplets as I stared into Cam’s eyes. Like magnets that couldn’t resist the strength of their pull, our lips met.

Shivers caused by the cold turned to trembles of anticipation. A groan slipped from my throat, and she responded by sliding one hand to the nape of my neck, the other sliding down to rest against my zipper.

The hoot of an owl was a sharp reminder that this wasn’t the right place.

Nuzzling her neck, I said, “Maybe we should take this someplace warmer.”

I jumped to my feet and pulled her up with me. As soon as the door shut, I pulled off my coat and hat and kicked off my boots, not giving a shit where they landed. Cam did the same. Clothes flew from each of us as we made our way to her room until we were both naked in front of her bed. Then our mouths were on each other’s again.

Winning…goals…dreams—nothing mattered at that moment except that I needed to be inside her. Years of self-control, and months of focusing on what was to come next, all evaporated in my need to have Cameron.

It wasn’t a sweet kiss, but typical of Cam, she gave as good as she got, her sweet moans going straight to my dick. I slid my hands to her ass, her legs instantly going around my waist as I lifted her off her feet. I lowered her to the bed and hovered over her, my forearms resting on either side of her.

“Mac,” she whispered, “I want you.
